Displacement efficiency in the water flooding process in fracture–vuggy reservoirs

چکیده
To determine how fracture–vuggy structure, pressure, and injection–production mode influence displacement efficiency in the water flooding process in fracture–vuggy reservoirs, two types of models were built based on the characteristic of such reservoir: two fracture models with different fracture apertures and two fracture– vuggy models with different sizes of vugs. A series of twophase fluid flow experiments was conducted to study oil and water distribution as well as flow pattern in the water flooding process. Results show that displacement efficiency is significantly influenced by injection–production mode and injection pressure. By contrast, its relationship with the size of vugs is insignificant. Under the same injection– production mode, high-to-low recovery that corresponds to model type includes the small fracture, large fracture, small vug, and large vug models. Under the same pore volume multiple, high-to-low recovery that corresponds to model includes the small fracture, small vug, large fracture, and large vug models.

RESEARCH ON CO2 FLOODING FOR IMPROVED OIL RECOVERY IN WATER FLOODING ABANDONED RESERVOIRS
CO2 injection is an effective technique for improved oil recovery in light oil reservoirs, especially for water flooding abandoned reservoirs. In this study, the lower part of Es1 reservoirs in Pucheng oilfield was introduced as the target reservoir. By studying the minimum miscible pressure in CO2 flooding, the reservoir could achieve miscible flooding. Long core displacement experiments prove...

The miscible displacement process appears to be an increasingly feasible method for the extraction of oil from depleted reservoirs. However, there is a lack of fundamental understanding of how fracture geometrical characteristics impact the oil recovery efficiency in this type of enhanced oil recovery technique. In this work, a series of experimental tests were conducted whereby the n-Hept...
متن کاملStudy on Flow in Fractured Porous Media Using Pore-Fracture Network Modeling
Microscopic flow in fractured porous media is a typical problem for the exploitation of tight reservoirs. The rapid-flow in the fractured porous-media is of great significance to efficient and continuous oil/gas exploitation. The fractures are expected to enhance flow conductivity and mass transfer between matrix and fractures, and to improve oil displacement during water flooding. However, the...
